SkyTrain Operations & Maintenance Centre (OMC) 4

The new SkyTrain Operation and Maintenance Centre (OMC) 4 located in Coquitlam, BC, is being developed as part of Translink’s multi-year, multi-site transit plan. The new facility, located on a 27-acre industrial site, will accommodate the new SkyTrain five-car Mark III trains, and will have an initial storage and maintenance capacity of 145 cars. SAI, in collaboration with Morrison Hershfield, RDHA, as well as the larger project team, is providing architectural and interior planning services
for the programming, full design, and construction quality control / oversight of three buildings onsite, including –

• VMS4 – Trainsets maintenance and repairs facility which includes six train bays with supporting offices, stores, and admin facilities

• Power and Propulsion Station – houses and distributes all incoming power for the site facilities

• Guardhouse – the entry point for visitors and staff, which includes a mechanical room and washroom, and extensive communication connections to all the buildings on the site.
