Connacher Residence

The form of this country residence was inspired by the old, covered bridges of New England. The house spans a creek that winds throughout the site and is designed to enhance the experience of its natural surroundings.

The structure consists of two levels: the bridge and creek levels. The bridge, which measures twenty by forty feet and peaks at a height of eighteen feet, offers continuous living space while the creek level contains a master bedroom, guest bedroom, library/office, and a garage. The exposed, twelve-foot high trusses that run the length of the bridge both enclose the deck and create a sense of drama.
