Strasman Architects is the Lead Architect for the City of Guelph’s new bus operations and maintenance facility that will house all maintenance activities for Guelph’s bus fleet over the next 25 years. Guelph is transitioning to a fully electric bus fleet, which the new facility will promote and support. The facility will incorporate forward-thinking resilient and adaptable sustainable design, including LEED principles and meet Zero Carbon Building Design Standard Certification from CAGBC. The 145,000 sq.ft. facility will accommodate –
- 200+ 40-ft buses, mobility buses and SUVs
- 6 bays for cleaning, fueling and fluids refilling
- 2 automatic bus wash bays including wash water recycling system
- Bus charging equipment into pantographs for all 40ft buses and plug in dispensers
- Supervisor control room
- Administrative areas and Employee amenities
- Training and meeting rooms
