The Bowmanville Rail Expansion Project will provide infrastructure improvements to address the existing and future projected ridership demand requirements to and from Durham Region. The project will extend commuter rail service through to Bowmanville with 3 stops included between the existing Oshawa station and the new line terminus.
Each station site incorporates commuter parking, rail platforms, tunnels, passenger drop off and pick up, full station amenities and service areas and integrated retail space. The station designs build upon the current Metrolinx Design Guidelines and branding principles while still providing site specific adaptability to ensure the site and building both function effectively. The planning incorporated provisions for future service delivery models by GO Transit operations.
As part of the Design-Build team, Strasman developed the project design for the initial Metrolinx Design Submission.
