Niagara Falls GO Station Way Side Facility

The Niagara Falls GO Facility Rehabilitation is part of Metrolinx’s Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and focuses on rehabilitating stations and layover facilities that will play a critical role in accommodating the potential increasing regional service demand.  The New Layover Facility project includes the renovations of the existing site to enhance customer service, and comply with Metrolinx standards and barrier-free requirements.

Strasman designed the addition of new island platforms with pedestrian tunnel connection and a new platform access module building and full-service utility building for the station site.  Following 50% detailed design, the project was revised to focus on a new wayside facility and utility service building with provisions for a new crew centre and emergency generator. The project also includes revisions to the site circulation and parking are incorporated to address operational requirements.
