The Rideau Transit Group was awarded the contract to design, construct and maintain the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Project. The consortium of ACS Infrastructure Canada, SNC-Lavalin and EllisDon was also responsible to supply light rail transit vehicles, build a new maintenance and storage facility on Belfast Road, and take charge of the ongoing maintenance of the system for 30 years.
When it was determined that additions were required to the Belfast site, the Rideau Transit Group partnered with SAI. Simeon is the Senior Architect on this project working directly with SNC Lavalin and the Rideau Transit Group. The assignment is to expand the existing storage shed capacity to 39, 400 sf, add a new maintenance and storage facility (47,900 sf), increase safety with a new overhead walkway bridge for drivers, expand the office space with a 3m wide ground floor addition and add the floor slabs and pit for the new prefabricated wheel truing facility.
