Scarboro Golf & Country Club

Scarboro Golf and Country Club, as part of an overall reconfiguration and renovation of their facilities, required a new Maintenance Facility. The new facility was one-storey plus basement level, and included workspaces, lunchrooms, locker and change rooms, hoist bays, mechanical office, greenhouse, vehicle wash, fueling pad, a general shop, vehicle storage and charging areas, as well as specialty spaces including a grinder room and sprayer room. The design of the facility was consistent with the existing heritage architecture of the clubhouse and other facilities and focused on minimizing the presence of the maintenance facility within the grounds. This was achieved by integrating the facility, both physically and visually, into the landscape with grading solutions, planting screens, and retaining walls. The design focused on achieving the project drivers of durability, accessibility, operational functionality, and cost-effective building assemblies.

SAI worked with closely with SGC stakeholders to develop a programme and develop the design for the new facility. The project was then rolled into an overall renovation project on the site.
